Regarding your ATI card/motherboard conflict:
I suggest that you check the motherboard website for known problems/conflicts and see if they have a workaround.
I understand your frustration with the techs. Often technicians just don't really care about your concerns, but simply want to get through as many machines as they can in a day.
Good luck and if you run out of options, send me a note and I will try to come up with other suggestions to try.
